I would have loved to have kept the pop chargers but I just couldn't squeeze them in. The overall dimensions of the K&N filters are a pinch smaller than the pop chargers. Last fall I borrowed a set of couplers and elbows to test out the dual intake option. That's where I found I couldn't physically use the pop chargers. Perhaps those elbows didn't carry the same amount of swept-back angle as the Z1 elbows, but that I'm not sure of. Because of those findings, I looked for alternative options over the winter and came upon this. Of all of the great tt.net threads I refered to, it seemed in their pics that there was adequate room to fit the pop chargers. Why I couldn't do the same is beyond me. I thought perhaps that the feeding hardpipes had been repositioned to accomodate that but found no evidence of it. Knowing I needed a filter base slightly smaller in diameter than the pop charger and it overall length very slightly shorter, I decided that the RU-2520's would fit the bill. I order the Ebay dual intake kit to include those K&N filters and it fit right up quite easily.
